Lizards
A very large and widespread group of squamate reptiles, with nearly 3800 species, ranging across all continents except Antarctica.
Sight is quite important for most lizards, both for locating prey and for communication, and as such, many lizards have highly acute color vision.

They are found on every continent except Antarctica. Fifteen families are currently recognized comprising 456 genera and over 2,900. They range in size from the tiny, 10 cm long thread snake to pythons and anacondas of up to 7.6 metres - 25 ft in length.

Turtles
Although many turtles spend large amounts of their lives underwater, all turtles and tortoises breathe air, and must surface at regular intervals to refill their lungs. They can also spend much of their lives on dry land.
